It all began with an entryway…
The entryway was too large for us to stand up for photographs, so we laid it down on the floor and photographed it from a ladder. It is 12 feet wide and 8 1/2 feet tall.

The doors were built first and prehung into their arched jamb.
Once the client saw the colors and textures of the wood, and detail of the wood-burned glyph inlays, he decided the garage door (which also faced the front of the home) should co-ordinate.
The Roll-Up Garage Door is 10 feet wide by 12 feet tall.
At his point, the client decided that all of the doors visible from the foyer or the great room should carry on this design theme.
Then the client asked, “How about baseboards and stair balusters to match?”
The baseboards were 6″ high, over 200 linear feet, grooved and hewn to go with the balusters, but we didn’t get any photos!
“One last thing, how about a light fixture for the foyer?”
Since it was ordered somewhat piecemeal, the Lumb Project took over a year to complete, with other client’s projects interjected as time was available.
